SRMH Introduction
Society for Rural Mental Health Society for Rural Mental Health is an Indian Non-Governmental Organization registered under Society Act that has been carrying forward its mission since 2016. In the context of mental health, the rural areas in India often pose tough challenges. With majority of our population living in the rural areas, the burden of mental illness in rural areas is enormous. Despite a good network of both private and public mental health care facilities, the mentally ill in the rural areas are still untouched.
At SRMH, we believe that mental health is a fundamental right, and everyone, regardless of their geographic location, deserves access to quality care and support. SRMH in this regard has taken a lead. The members of society are activily .....

10h Annual Confrence of Society for Rural Mental Health
Greetings from the Institue of Mental Health!
Dear Friends,
We are pleased to invite you to the 10th National Annual Conference of the Society for Rural Mental Health (SRMH), to be held in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on November 1 and 2, 2025.
The theme for this year's conference, "Psychiatry: Beyond Biopsychosocial Model," seeks to broaden the scope of mental health discourse by exploring integrative and culturally rooted approaches to well-being. While the Biopsychosocial model has provided a valuable framework, there is a need to incorporate the rapid changes occurring due to environment and transformation of services due to AI (Artificial Intelligence). We also need to focus on spiritual, religious, astrological and alternative therapies to provide comprehensive care.
By bringing together professionals, researchers, practitioners, and community leaders, the conference aims to foster critical dialogue and share practical frameworks that integrate these alternative and indigenous approaches into mental health care delivery.
Set against the sacred and historic backdrop of Ayodhya, this event promises a unique and enriching platform for collaborative learning and innovation in mental health practice.
We look forward to your valuable participation.
